  • Mid century sofa by Robin day 'Forum' reupholstered in grey wool

    SKU: 00075

A Mid Century design classic and stunning Habitat “Days Forum” 3 seater sofa, designed by Robin Day in 1964 and originally produced for Hille. This sofa was then produced by Habitat under licence until 2014.

This piece has been reupholstered in a soft grey wool fabric that really accentuates the beech frame.

The item is in very good condition with brand new fabric, and only a couple of very small marks on the frame.

    A design classic

Robin Day’s radical design puts the structure on the outside; slender exterior chromed metal square bars support the wood panelled frame which in turn houses the beautiful premium leather upholstery. This British designed and Italian-made seating range is a lesson in simplicity, and a deservedly popular design classic.

Robin Day was one of the most influential British furniture designers of the twentieth century and together with his wife, the designer Lucienne Day, have often been compared to their US contemporaries, Charles and Ray Eames. He came to prominence at the Festival of Britain in 1951, designing the seating for the Royal Festival Hall, and his furniture is still widely used in homes and public spaces throughout the world.
